He was awarded this amount to start his own business endeavor. He didn’t waste that money at all and launched his trendy handbag collection that same year.
The next year in 2009, the struggling designer launched a new line of women’s T-shirts. After the great success of his designs, he launched tees for men the next year. On Mar 5, 2012, the New York Post published a report telling about a $50 million charge against Alexander Wang. According to alleged reports, Alex was accused of running a sweatshop located in Chinatown, Manhattan. Furthermore, the article published in the newspaper stated that around thirty workers criticized the poor working conditions. A worker named Wenyu Lu was passed out at the work station since he was being forced to work more than 25 hours without any break. Wang had to face legal proceedings after this case was presented in court.
