Just before turning eight, she took part in a talent competition and got the second place. After that she performed in many events. David Foster, a musician and record producer noticed her talent in 2009. She performed in the "David Foster & Friends" event in 2009. Her solo debut album "Prelude to a Dream" was released in 2009.
Evancho participated in the 5th season of America Got Talent in 2010 and became runner up. After that, she became a national sensation. She went for Live Tour in ten cities. She signed a contract with Columbia Records and SYCO. With Columbia she released her first major EP record, "O Holy Night". It was charted at no. 2 position on the "Billboard 200".
The EP got the platinum certificate from the RIAA. She is the youngest solo artist in the USA, who got the platinum certificate. Her other studio albums are "Dream with Me", "Heavenly Christmas", "Songs from the Silver Screen", "Awakening, Someday at Christmas", "Two Hearts" and "The Debut".
Acting and modeling
Her acting career started with "High School Musical". She also worked in "She's Out of My League" for a short role in 2010. She was in the episode "Wizards of Waverly Place: Back to Max" aired on the Disney Channel in 2007.
She also did some modeling. She was in "GUESS Kids fall 2012" campaign. Later she worked with "WhyHunger", "Sephora", "philosophy.com" and many other advertisements. She also did many campaigns for public service.
