Steven Adam Markowitz, professionally known by his stage name Hoodie Allen, is the spectacular songwriter, singer, and rapper from Plainview, New York. The outstanding performer completed his graduation from the University of Pennsylvania, he started a job at Google. He was enjoying his work there, but always wanted to chase his musical dreams. Eventually, he left his job at Google in order to pursue a career as a professional musician. Things weren’t easy at the beginning, but he remained steadfast to achieve something bigger.
Finally, in 2012, Allen came up with his debut extended play titled ‘All American’. It proved to be the initial breakthrough for the talented musician. The EP went into top charts on the US Billboard 200 and secured 10th spot. It was a big achievement for Hoodie as he didn’t expect such kind of tremendous response for his first effort. Two years later in 2010, he officially rolled out his debut studio album with caption ‘People Keep Talking’. Again it was a massive hit with over 30,000 copies sold just within the first week. Allen didn’t want the success trail to stop and that’s the reason he officially launched his 2nd studio album titled ‘Happy Camper’ in January 2016. Who are Hoodie Allen's Parents?
Hoodie graced this beautiful earth with his arrival on Aug 19, 1988. He was born to a loving family in Plainview, New York, United States. He grew up in a Jewish home with his beloved brother named Daniel. He has a poetic nature from the beginning. Hoodie performed as the vocalist while Obey used to take part in the production work. They launched two mixtapes titled ‘Making Waves’ and ‘Bagels & Beats EP’. These were well-received across the country and helped the duo receive the nomination for the ‘Best Music on Campus Award’ of MTVU in 2009. They received notable attention through track ‘UPENN Girls’.
On Oct 14, 2014, Hoodie released his debut studio album titled ‘People Keep Talking’. It was a self-release that came out in CDs and digital download formats. It was ranked 166 on the US Billboard with no significant attention from other markets. Allen has launched his fourth studio album titled ‘Whatever the USA’ on Aug 16, 2019. Aside from his studio albums, Hoodie has given some of the most striking extended plays to his music fans. He has successfully launched three EPs thus far in his professional career as a singer. These are titled ‘All American’, ‘Americoustic’, and ‘All Aout It EP’.
He has given many remarkable singles including, ‘Hell of a Time’, ‘Never Going Back’, ‘Know it All’, ‘Come Around (with Christian French)’, ‘Sushi’, ‘Champagne and Pools’, ‘Are U Having Any Fun’, ‘Dumb of You’, ‘Let it Work Out’, ‘Cake Boy’, and ‘You Are Not A Robot’. Acting
Not just a singer, but Hoodie is a wonderful actor as well. He made his acting debut on Mar 3, 2011, when he appeared in four fun-filled episodes of ‘Jake and Amir’. It is a college humor series that has great acceptance among teenagers. He portrayed the character of Amir’s rap teacher, which helped him gain a significant recognition on the American television.
